Disappointment for Under 19 hopefuls...29/08/2007
Paul Cahillane, Graham Carey and Cillian Sheridan have again been withdrawn by their club Glasgow Celtic from the Ireland squad to face Portugal in two friendly fixtures next week. David Hutton of Tottenham Hotspur has also withdrawn. Cahillane and Carey may be particularly upset as their absence, from what are essentially crucial trial matches prior to selection of the squad for the European Championship qualifiers, could well cost them the opportunity to represent their country in the UEFA games.

Second success for U19 Women...19/08/2007
The Ireland Under 19 women's team scored a two nil victory over Poland in Jackman Park, Limerick, this afternoon. A goal in each half from Stephanie Roche secured the win for manager Sue Ronan's side.

Late winner for Bohemian in FAI Ford Cup ...19/08/2007
Non league side Malahide United put in a very spirited performance in today's FAI Ford Cup third round clash with Premier Division side Bohemian FC, before a Glen Crowe goal ten minutes from time secured victory for the Phibsborough club.

Derry City and Longford Town of the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division are through to the quarter-finals of the FAI Ford Cup following their one nil and two nil victories over Donegal sides, Finn Harps and Fanad United respectively.

Drogheda United draw with Swedes in UEFA Cup...16/08/2007
The eircom League of Ireland's last representatives in Europe this season, Drogheda United, drew 1-1 with Helsingborgs of Sweden in the first leg, second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup in Dalymount Park this evening. The visitors took a first half lead through Henrik Larson but Drogheda responded well and thoroughly deserved their equaliser scored by Eamon Zayed.

Victory for U19 Women in Tolka Park tonight...17/08/2007
The Ireland Under 19 women's team scored a comprehensive four nil victory over Poland in Tolka Park tonight. First half goals from Louise Quinn and Aine O'Gorman and a second half brace from Kara Mullins and Gillian McDonnell secured the win. The two sides will meet again in Jackman Park, Limerick at 3.00pm on Sunday 19 August 2007.

U15 Women defeat Russia in German Tournament...13/08/2007
Ireland Under 15 women recovered from the concession of an early goal to record a 2-1 victory over Russia in the opening game of an International Tournament in Germany. Ireland will face the host nation on Wednesday evening before they play their final match against Denmark two days later.

A touch of 'deja vous' at Lissywoolen...09/08/2007
in their second encounter, played this evening in Athlone, Chile U19s again came from behind to score two second half goals and complete the double over the Republic of Ireland U19 side. Alan Lynch of Bohemian FC gave Ireland a first half lead, but despite dominating play the Irish boys could not add to the score. The brace of matches will have proved invaluable in assessing players for the upcoming 2008 European Championship qualifying campaign.

Ireland Under 19s lose out to Chile...07/08/2007
The Republic of Ireland U19 side, captained by Michael Spillane of Norwich City, was defeated 2-1 by Chile in Lissywoolen, Athlone this evening. Ireland took the lead through an own goal after 60 minutes but Chile responded with two late goals for victory. The sides meet again at the same venue on Thursday evening.

St Kevin's just lose out in Milk Cup Final...03/08/2007
The St Kevin's Boys U15 side was defeated 1-0 by tournament favourites Guadalajara of Mexico in the final of the Northern Ireland Milk Cup at the Coleraine Showgrounds this afternoon.

Drogheda United draw Helsingborg in UEFA Cup...03/08/2007
The draw for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup was made today and the eircom League of Ireland's sole survivors Drogheda United, will meet Helsingborg of Sweden. The first leg is scheduled for Dalymount Park on Thursday 16 August with the return leg two weeks later.

St Kevin's reach Milk Cup Final...02/08/2007
RISSC (London) sponsored St Kevin's Boys U 15 side will contest the Northern Ireland Milk Cup Final after another nail-biting 5-3 penalty shoot-out success over Aspire Academy in the semi-final tonight. The sides finished 1-1 in normal time with Ethan Mannion scoring the goal. St Kevin's will meet pre-tournament favourites Guadalajara of Mexico in the Coleraine Showgrounds at 4.00pm on Friday 3 August 2007.
