U21s bound for Baku27/01/2006
The Republic of Ireland U21 side, managed by Don Givens, will meet Azerbaijan over two legs in the preliminary round of the 2007 European Championship, the finals of which will take place in Holland during July 2007. The first leg will be played in Baku with the second leg at home and both matches must be completed by 15 July 2006. The winners of the tie will face Belgium and Greece in a home and away mini-group, the winners of which will proceed to the next knockout stage, which will also be played over two legs.

Ireland face Czech Republic and Germany27/01/2006
Stephen Staunton’s Republic of Ireland will make their competitive debut in an enthralling Group D of the EURO 2008 Championships. Ireland will meet top seeds the Czech Republic together with Germany, Slovakia, Wales, Cyprus and San Marino. With the exception of familiar rivals Cyprus, all of the away trips are logistically of a relatively simple nature and Staunton and his team can expect to receive a huge volume of support.

Staunton unveiled to the public...16/01/2006
The newly appointed Ireland senior management team headed by Stephen Staunton was formally introduced to the public at a press conference held in the Mansion House, Dublin this morning. Staunton, accompanied by consultant Bobby Robson and coaches, Alan Kelly and Kevin McDonald responded to a lively series of questions put to them by the media fraternity. Staunton confirmed that he had already embarked on the process of identifying candidates for inclusion in his first squad to face Sweden on 1 March 2006.

The Football Association of Ireland this afternoon confirmed the appointment of Stephen Staunton, former captain and record international cap holder with 102 appearances, as the new manager of the Senior International Team. Sir Bobby Robson takes up the position of International Football Consultant with Kevin McDonald, the former Liverpool midfielder and current reserve team coach at Aston Villa, appointed Coach and Alan Kelly as Goalkeeping Coach.

Welcome to the New Year02/01/2006
The committee of RISSC (London) wishes a Happy New Year to all members, their families and friends. The Club looks forward to what should be an eventful and exciting 2006 which will kick off on Friday the 27th January when the draw for EURO 2008 will take place. On that same evening the Club will hold its first meeting of the New Year, when our Inter County Charity Sports Quiz will be a feature of the night.
