Cork City made to sweat by Icelanders...30/06/2007
A first half goal for FC Valur gave below par Cork City a fright in tonight's UEFA Intertoto first round second leg match in Turner's Cross. Holding a two goal lead from last week's first leg in Iceland, Cork managed to hold out and go through to the next round where the will face Hammerby of Sweden.

Champions League draw unkind to Derry City...29/06/2007
This morning's Champions League draw sent Eircom League of Ireland representatives Derry City, east to face FC Pyunik of Armenia in the first qualifying round first leg on 17/18 July 2007. The second leg will take place in the Brandywell on 24/25 July 2007. Success will see Derry return to eastern Europe where Shakhtar Donetsk of the Ukraine await the first round winners.

UEFA Cup draw made in Nyon today...29/06/2007
The draw for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Cup paired Drogheda United with San Marino outfit SP Libertas and St Patrick's Athletic with Odense BK of Denmark. Both Irish sides host the first legs on Wednesday 18 July 2007 with the the away legs taking place on Thursday 2 August 2007.

Ireland Deaf finish fourth in European Championship...22/06/2007
The Ireland Deaf team played out a two all draw with Germany in the 3rd/4th Place play-off at the European Deaf Football Championships in Portugal today. Germany won the penalty shoot-out to finish third with Ireland in fourth position.

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has confirmed that preliminary discussions have taken place concerning the introduction of a new International Tournament involving the four Celtic nations.

Ireland Deaf suffer semi-final defeat...20/06/2007
The Ireland Deaf team lost 1-3 this afternoon to favourites Great Britain in the semi-final of the European Deaf Championships. Ireland will now meet the losers of tonight's other semi-final between France and Germany in the third place play-off on Friday 22 June 2007.

U17 Women lose again to Italy...20/06/2007
Italy scored another 2-1 success over the Republic of Ireland Women's U17 team in their second friendly encounter at the Oscar Traynor Development Centre this afternoon. Italy took an early lead but Ireland, through debutant Deirdre Duke, equalised before the half time break. Italy regained the lead three minutes into the second half and try as they might, Ireland could not find a response.

Richard Sadlier joins new St Patrick's Athletic Board...19/06/2007
Former Millwall and Republic of Ireland striker Richard Sadlier has been named on the new board of Eicom League of Ireland leaders St Patrick's Athletic, announced today. Twenty seven year old Sadlier, wose senior career was ended by injury, is currently a Sunday Independent columnist.

U17 women lose opener against Italy...18/06/2007
Visitors Italy scored a 2-1 success over the Republic of Ireland Women's U17 team in their opening friendly encounter at the Oscar Traynor Development Centre tonight. A goal from Gillian McDonnell, ten minutes from the end, equalised a first half Italian strike, but the visitors stole victory with a last minute goal. the two sides meet again at the same venue on Wednesday 20 June 2007 at 3.00pm.

Brady thunders St Kevin's Boys to cup victory...09/06/2007
Robert Brady, captain of St Kevin's Boys, gave another virtuoso performance to lead the team to a three nil success over Shelbourne in this afternoon's DDSL Thunder Cup Final played at the Mobhi Road ground of Home Farm FC.

The Dublin District Schoolboys League retained the prestigous Kennedy Cup with a 2-0 victory over the Cork Schoolboys League at Limerick University this morning.

St Kevin's Boys prepare for Cup Final...07/06/2007
The boys of St Kevin's DDSL U14 Premier League side, face Shelbourne in the final of the DDSL Thunder Cup at 1.00pm on Saturday 9 June 2007 in Mobhi Road, Glasnevin. Coach Paul Boyle, assistant Ciaran Heffernan and the players will be aiming to lift themselves for one final effort of what has been a long and arduous, but nevertheless very successful season.

St Kevin's Boys defeat league champions...04/06/2007
The RISSC (London) sponsored St Kevin's U14 boys, consolidated their runners-up position in the DDSL League with a two nil victory over champions Belvedere in a competitive Shanowen Road encounter this morning. Alex McCann and Conor Murphy supplied the goals which should put the boys in good heart for the DDSL Thunder Cup Final against Shelbourne. The final is scheduled for a 1.00pm kick-off this Saturday, 9 June 2007 at Mobhi Road, Glasnevin.

St Kevin's Boys show courage...01/06/2007
Despite the disappointment of Wednesday evening, which cost them any chance of the league title, the boys of St Kevin's displayed the courage and fortitude of a quality side with a three nil success over Templeogue United in the DDSL this evening. Two goals from skipper Robert Brady and another from Sean Stewart set the seal on victory.
