scrape a win & France draw in Israel
- 30/03/05 Switzerland scraped a 1-0 win against Cyprus in Zurich. Swiss striker Alexander Frei scored in the 88 minute. France had their goal scorer David Trezeguet sent off 5 minutes after he opened the scoring in Tel Aviv. Israel scored another late goal to frustrate France for the second time in this group. Badir scored for Israel in the 83rd minute. Group 4 Results> U17s Lose to England - 30/03/05 The U17s lose 3-1 to England in Walsall, goals from Ephraim,Walcott and Vaughan for Engalnd and a cracking 30 yard consolation goal from James Ryan, but with Serbia & Montenegro thumping Northern Ireland 6-1, Ireland finish the group in 3rd place. U17s Update Simon Madden (Leeds Utd.) unfortunately has withdrawn from the U17 Elite tournament being held in England this weekend, due to an injury. He has been replace by Lorcan Fitzgerald of Shelbourne. The team are meeting in Dublin tonight, before flying to Birmingham tomorrow 25th of March.
