Swiss scrape a win & France draw in Israel - 30/03/05
Switzerland scraped a 1-0 win against Cyprus in Zurich. Swiss striker Alexander Frei scored in the 88 minute. France had their goal scorer David Trezeguet sent off 5 minutes after he opened the scoring in Tel Aviv. Israel scored another late goal to frustrate France for the second time in this group. Badir scored for Israel in the 83rd minute. Group 4 Results>

U17s Lose to England - 30/03/05
The U17s lose 3-1 to England in Walsall, goals from Ephraim,Walcott and Vaughan for Engalnd and a cracking 30 yard consolation goal from James Ryan, but with Serbia & Montenegro thumping Northern Ireland 6-1, Ireland finish the group in 3rd place.

U17s Get off to a flying start - 26/03/05
The Republic of Ireland U17's get off to a flying start in the UEFA U17 Elite Qualifying Tournament being played in the Birmingham / Midlands area. They beat Northern Ireland 2-1 in Damson Park, home of Solihull Borough. The goals were scored by Stephen Gleeson and Anthony Stokes. England, in the same group 2, also won, beating Serbia Montenegro by a score of 3-1, putting them on top of the group on goal difference.

U21s Lose - 25/03/05
The Republic of Ireland U21's lose 3-1 in Israel in a very poor game, according to post match reports. While France and Switzerland drew 1-1 in Troyes, France. France conceded their 1st goal and dropped their 1st points in the group. Goals were scored Julien Faubert for France and Fabrizio Zambrella for the Swiss.

U17s Update
Simon Madden (Leeds Utd.) unfortunately has withdrawn from the U17 Elite tournament being held in England this weekend, due to an injury. He has been replace by Lorcan Fitzgerald of Shelbourne. The team are meeting in Dublin tonight, before flying to Birmingham tomorrow 25th of March.
