FAI Cup

It is the round when the high rollers enter the frame. The teams from the top 2 divisions enter the draw along with the 10 non league winners from the first round. The non league teams are:-

Fanad United
Carew Park or St Peter's
Malahide United
Galway Hibs
Avondale United
Waterford Crystal
Wayside Celtic
Lissadel United
Cherry Orchard
Douglas Hall

Two sets of the above teams have been drawn together, signifying that there will be at least two non league teams in the draw for the next round. The holders Longford Town have been drawn at home to non league team Waterford Crystal and should have a comfortable passage to the 3rd round. Last years finalists Waterford United face St. Patrick's Athletic at home in the RSC. The tie of the round looks like it is going to be Shelbourne, who currently top the Eircom Premier Division against 3rd placed team Derry City. Ties will be played week-ending June 12th
