Kerr Announces Squad for Upcoming Fixtures

Brian Kerr Manager

There are no surprises in the initial 22 man squad announced for the Testimonial match at Parkhead on Sunday 29 May 2005. The team will play as ‘The Brian Kerr Republic of Ireland Selection’. Included in the squad are Stephen Carr and Roy Keane who are both suspended for the Israel fixture. The squad also includes Damian Duff who has missed Chelsea’s last six matches through injury but he is reported to be near full fitness and it is believed his inclusion has been sanctioned by his Club.

Missing from the squad is Richard Dunne who has recently undergone surgery on both ankles and with doubts also surrounding the fitness of Gary Breen, Ireland may well be stretched in the central defensive area.

The recent good form of Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven Reid, sees him recalled to the squad and there is also a recall for Ian Harte who together with Steve Finnan will join up with the squad on 31 May 2005 following completion of their club commitments.

Steve Finnan and Ian Harte will join the squad on 31 May 2005.
