The always talented and technically gifted Dutch will provide an acid test of the abilities of the Irish boys. Dundalk victorious in play-off...25/11/2006 Eircom League Division One runners-up Dundalk defeated Premier League bottom side Waterford United by 2 goals to 1 in the RSC tonight to secure an aggregate 3-2 success in the Eircom League play-off. Hero for the Oriel Park side was Trevor Vaughan who followed up his added time penalty equaliser in the first leg with both goals tonight. Vaughan's first was another penalty and came seven minutes after the 'Blues' had taken the lead as they also had done in the first leg.It remains to be seen what impact tonight's outcome has in the structuring of the new Premier League for next season.
