Eircom Premier Leaders Regain Momentum...31/10/2005
Both Cork and Derry City recovered from the shock of their weekend defeats when they travelled to Dublin on Bank Holiday Monday and secured victories over Bohemians and UCD by 2-1 and 2-0 respectively. Third place Shelbourne maintained their outside chance of the Title with an emphatic 5-0 home win over Bray Wanderers.

Nervous leaders in Premier action...31/10/2005
Following their shock home defeats at the weekend, Eircom Premier Division top two, Cork City and Derry City travel to Dublin today where they will encounter stiff opposition from Bohemians and UCD respectively. In a third 'capital' fixture, third placed Shelbourne, who are still not out of the title race, meet Bray Wanderers in Tolka Park.
No change at First Division summit...31/10/2005
With the weekend games involving Sligo Rovers against Cobh Ramblers and Dublin City against Limerick both ending in 1-1 stalemates, there is no change at the top of the Eircom First Division. On Saturday next, Cobh entertain Dublin City in what is likely to be a defining fixture for both clubs, Sligo Rovers, who hold a three point lead, travel to Monaghan on Friday evening while fourth placed Limerick play host to Dundalk on the same evening.

The FAI, following consultation with finalists Cork City and Drogheda United, has confirmed that the FAI Carlsberg Senior Challenge Cup Final will take place at Lansdowne Road on Sunday 4 December 2005, with a kick-off time of 3.15 pm.

RISSC Club Team Crash out of Cup...25/10/2005
The Club Team suffered a 4-1 home defeat to First Division Birmingham City, in the preliminary round of the Dave Baister Cup, last Sunday. The team will be seeking to put the disappointment of their cup exit behind them when they face London Scottish at the Shamrock Club, Acton on Sunday 30 October. The RISSC Team currently lie third in Division Two of the APFSCIL League - one point behind their hosts, and will be making every effort to overcome their close rivals

Cork and Drogheda in Cup Final Clash... 25/10/2005
Current Eircom League Leaders, Cork City, will face 4th place Drogheda United in the final of the FAI Carlsberg Cup Final on Sunday 4 December 2005. The match is provisionally scheduled to take place at Tolka Park, but given the level of support anticipated by both Clubs, the venue is under review, with Lansdowne Road or the RDS potential alternatives. Both Cork and Drogheda enjoyed home advantage in their semi-final clashes with Derry City and Bray Wanderers respectively, and both prevailed by single goal margins.

Vincent Butler's Republic of Ireland U16 Squad, travel to Val de Marne, east of Paris, on Monday 23 October 2005 to compete in an International Quadrangular Tournament, which involves: Norway, Portugal and host nation, France.

Superb U19s trounce Italy....20/10/2005
Goals from Billy Clarke 2, Darron Gibson and Eddie Nolan gave Ireland a wonderful 4-1 win over Italy at a rain sodden Turners Cross tonight. With the North beating Moldova 2-1 they also qualify for the Elite round and Italy go home with their tail between their legs...

RISSC Club Team face tough opposition in DB Cup...17/10/2005
The Club Team face 1st division Birmingham City in the APFSCIL DB Cup next Sunday 23 October. Birmingham have got off to a flying start in their division - they are currently lying 3rd in their division, whereas our team are in the same position in division 2 with an identical record of 3 wins and one defeat, as of 16 October. Here's hoping that we can turn over a team from the top division and have a good cup run this year.

Stephen Carr Quits the International scene...16/10/2005
At the unusually young age of 29, Stephen Carr has decided to hang up his international boots. While representing his country he failed to score in his 41 outings. He is the 3rd player to announce his retirement from international football on the failure of Ireland to qualify for the playoffs for the World Cup in Germany next year.

Doyle strikes to keep Reading in promotion hunt...16/10/2005
Wexford born Kevin Doyle scored Reading's 2nd goal to keep them within 3 points of Sheffield United in the Championship. Doyle has now clocked up 4 goals and he also supplied the cross for Ipswich's Richard Naylor to score an OG to open Reading's account. U19s set out on qualification road...15/10/2005
Sean McCaffrey's U19 squad embark on the qualification road, leading to the UEFA Championship Finals in Poland during July 2006, from Cork on Sunday 16 October 2005. Preparations have been disrupted by the withdrawal of Ipswich Town starlets, Owen Garvan and Shane Supple together with the injury to Reading striker, Shane Long. Nevertheless, McCaffrey has assembled a squad of no little quality and is optimistic of progressing to the Elite qualifying stage of the Championships from what is a very demanding Group 6.
