Women's Under 17

The draw for the qualifying round of the 2009 UEFA Championships has been made and Ireland will meet the Faroe Islands, Holland and host nation Turkey in Group Five. The group fixtures will take place between 18th and 23rd October 2008.

Preparations for the qualifying campaign commenced on Sunday 20 July 2008 when the Republic of Ireland played host to Northern Ireland in Mile Bush Park, Castlebar. The home side recorded an emphatic 7-1 victory with goals from Orla Devanney 3, Kirsty Keogh 2, Maria Delahunty and Ciara Grant.

Ireland will participate in a Quadrangular Tournament, hosted by Poland, from 20th August 2008 to 23rd August 2008, with Italy and Russia being the other participants.

Thursday 21 August 2008 - 16.00 Ireland 0-1 Russia and Poland 0-5 Italy
